BROADCAST STUDIOS ON THE CAMPUS:
To assist
the broadcast media in better accessing University of
California, Berkeley scholars for interviews, the
campus offers two radio and television studios with
uplink capabilities.
UC Berkeley Education Technology Services operates in Dwinelle Hall a fully equipped television studio with a direct fiber connection to the Pacific Bell hub in San Francisco. Through the hub, connections can be made to Vyvx or any satellite service provider worldwide. The main studio has three cameras and a choice of backgrounds. Additionally, tape feeds to the Pac Bell hub can be sent from one of the betacam SP or DV cam video tape recorders in the master control room. The unit also operates an ISDN line with a Telos Zephir codec. For rates and booking, please contact George Heuga, broadcast scheduler, at Educational Technology Services at (510) 643-8337 or cell: (510) 812-7597
The UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism offers a single camera studio where scholars can be interviewed for television. The school also offers audio feeds from its radio studios. For more information, please contact Milt Wallace, senior TV technician at (510) 642-2440 or cell: (415) 608-2484.
FILMING ON CAMPUS:
Broadcast journalists are welcome to film on campus.
However, to shoot inside any office building, dormitory,

from the Office of Media Relations. Our staff is available
to help arrange broadcast access to the best shoot
locations. Please call Julie Huang at (510) 642-6051
